Below you’ll find information on COVID-19 testing, face coverings and free food as well as family, financial and personal resources. Take a moment to read through all of the information provided. How and Where to Get Started
Vashon Island residents have access to on-island testing through the island Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers. The MRC test at the O Space and take appointments through recommendation from your primary health provider or screening of their own at (844) 469-4554, ext 2, 9 AM – 5 PM daily. MRC will accept insurance, cash, or can cover the fee if you are unable.
Free virtual visits and access to coronavirus testing available at Franciscan and MultiCare.
The Greater Seattle Coronavirus Assessment Network Study (SCAN) offers free hand delivered self-administered tests. They will deliver to and pick up from your house and get you results in 24-48 hours.

Many Vashon businesses have restrictions during the Covid-19 self quarantine issued by Gov. Jay Inslee.

FACE COVERINGS
Masks for Vashon sew and distribute reusable masks for Vashon residents and organizations. You can get yours by donation at the VARSA office at 9920 SW Bank Rd.
Many Vashon businesses, including Thriftway and Island Home Center & Lumber, have masks available for customers upon request.

Island Resources During Covid
ADDITIONAL MEDICAL RESOURCES
A community closet of medical supplies is available at the Vashon Lutheran Church for anyone who needs them.
NeighborCare Health at VHS, Vashon Natural Medicine, as well as dental services remain open.
FINANCIAL RESOURCES
Unemployment is available for anyone who has lost their job or has had to take time off to self-quarantine or care for a sick relative can. For more information or to apply go here.
Anyone whose job has put them into direct contact with a COVID positive person and has become ill or must quarantine can file for workers comp. For more information or to apply follow the link here.

If you are struggling to make rent or mortgage resources are available through United Way King County, King County, and the CDC.
Student loan deferments and forbearance may be available through application to the US Department of Education.
If you need support paying your utility bills, it is likely your service provider has an aid program available at this time. Puget Sound Energy, Comcast, The Utilities and Transportation Commission and the federal government all provide resources for affected customers.
St. Vincent de Paul Society provides emergency assistance with rent, utilities, food as well as other basic needs. For assistance, reach them at (206) 450-7577.
NOURISHMENT WITHOUT COST
Vashon-Maury Food Bank remains open, offering shopping and delivery options.
Free lunches are handed out every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 5:30 PM at the Methodist church.
Bramble House offers bagged lunches Wednesday through Sunday 11 AM – 1 PM.
Free access to Vashon farm stands is available through VIGAs Food Access Partnership at Forest Garden Farm, Northbourne Farm, Pacific Crest Farm, and La Bionda Farm.
Vashon Island School District offers free breakfast and lunch every school day for anyone between the ages of 3 and 18 years of age and any Special Education students through the age of 21. The district offers delivery or pickup from VHS.
Delivered lunches are available for anyone over the age of 55 through the Vashon Senior Center. To sign up, email bluebird@vashoncenter.org.

SAFE FAMILY RESOURCES
The Vashon DOVE project works tirelessly to assure that our community remains safe from violence and abuse. They offer a wide range of services to support domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. Their number is (206) 462-0911.
Beyond Vashon there are resources available through Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.
Planned Parenthood is also available for family planning and health care.
