MultiCare layoffs announced in south King County and beyond

It was announced Wednesday that there will be over 100 layoffs and closures at MultiCare hospitals and clinics across Washington state, including a few in south King County.

A friend took her new kindergartner in for a conference before school started, and the teacher asked him to count to 20. He skipped around a bit, landed on 15 and ended triumphantly: “15, 16, seventeen-one, seventeen-two, seventeen-three, seventeen-four, twenty!”

Call me regretful! Until recently I had not read more than a few chapters of Herman Melville’s “Moby-Dick or The Whale.” I’m not exactly sure why. Perhaps I was waiting until I was called to it.
