Roll In, Rev Up, and March On: Join the 2025 Strawberry Festival Parade and Car Show

Few things capture the spirit of Vashon Island quite like the Strawberry Festival Parade and Car Show. It’s quirky, heartfelt, and loud in all the right ways. Whether you’re behind the wheel of a classic ride, walking with your community group, or waving from a kazoo-powered float, it’s the kind of experience that sticks with you long after the confetti settles.

Be Part of the Parade

The 2025 Strawberry Festival Parade kicks off at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 19. Participants should arrive early, as the line-up begins at 9:00 AM along the main highway at the Methodist Church. All parade vehicles and walkers must be in place by 9:30 AM. Once the highway closes, you won’t be able to access the drop-off area, so plan ahead.

Parade registration is now open and free of charge. From dance groups and nonprofits to local families in costume and creatively built floats, the parade is a joyful showcase of island life. If you want to be part of the fun, all you need to do is register by the deadline.

The last day to sign up is Monday, July 7, at 12 noon Pacific time.

Cruise Into the Car Show

The weekend fun continues on Sunday, July 20, with the 15th Annual Strawberry Festival Car Show hosted by Island Insurance Center. This event celebrates everything from antique cars and custom hot rods to modern electric vehicles and quirky island builds.

Staging begins at 9:00 AM at Vashon Center for the Arts, followed by a short parade through town at 10:00 AM. After that, head to Town Square from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM to see all the cars up close.

At 1:30 PM, awards will be presented in 11 categories, including Best in Show, People’s Choice, and the beloved Best of Vashon, which honors vehicles with the most character and island spirit—rust encouraged.

More information on the car show is available at carshowpro.com/event/1996

Why It All Matters

The parade and car show are not just entertainment; they are also a celebration of community spirit. They’re celebrations of what makes this community special. From handmade signs and creative costumes to lovingly restored engines and wild inventions on wheels, every participant adds something meaningful to the experience.

There’s still time to get involved. Whether you’re entering your car, walking in the parade, or cheering from the sidelines, you’ll be part of something Vashon looks forward to all year. Register now, join the fun, and help make this year’s festival unforgettable.
