Amateur Cider-Maker Competition

This year, in partnership with the Vashon Fruit Club, CiderFest is excited to introduce a new feature: the 1st Annual Vashon Island Amateur Cider Cup. The competition is open exclusively to amateur cider and perry makers residing on Vashon-Maury Island, with the condition that 100% of the apples or pears used must be sourced from the island. Submissions for the competition are open until October 1st, 2023.

Celebrating Cider’s Historical Roots

Cider holds a special place in American history, being the most popular alcoholic beverage in colonial times. The event is a nod to this heritage and the resurgence of artisan-crafted local ciders. Vashon is home to numerous small farms, specialty orchards, and talented cider makers, contributing to the vibrant local cider scene.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Sponsorship opportunities for the event are available, with presenting sponsorships at $1,200 and supporting sponsorships at $600, offering a range of promotional benefits. Those interested in sponsoring can contact Amy Drayer at amy.drayer@vashonchamber.com or Connie Sorensen at connie.sorensen@compass.com. Sponsorship opportunities close on September 15th.
