The property provides one of two island boat launch and parking areas for motorized craft and a put-in access for hand carry kayaks and canoes. There is a small grassy area with picnic tables along the sand and cobblestone beach, which, due to the shallow water depth, is relatively warm for Puget Sound waters during the summer months. Toilet is available and ADA-accessible parking.
The boathouse is home to the Vashon Jr. Crew rowing program, operated in cooperation with the local rowing club and providing permanent instruction and operating space. Vashon Island Rowing Club is a year round adult rowing program, and Junior Crew is for boys and girls age 13 – 18. Juniors have a 12 week Fall season starting the last week of August and a 16 week Spring season starting the end of January in addition to summer camps.
