I would strongly caution anyone considering using Amy Craig LLC for upholstery work.
We recently had two chairs reupholstered and the finished product was extremely disappointing. After bringing the chairs home and looking at them more closely, we noticed numerous workmanship issues that should never be present on newly reupholstered furniture.
There is a section on one seat where the fabric appears to have been cut and stitched back together, leaving a visible hole. Several staples are coming through the back of the chair. The trim work is inconsistent and in some places completely unfinished, leaving areas exposed that should have been neatly completed. The fabric itself is not smooth and has noticeable wrinkles and dips across the surface.
We also found a stain on one of the chairs, and the gimp on the top edge of one chair had already come off almost immediately. The underside of the chairs is also poorly finished, with rough free-cut fabric edges, loose sections hanging down, and wrinkles literally stapled into the bottom fabric.
The workmanship is honestly so poor it is difficult to fully describe. After paying to have these chairs professionally reupholstered, we are now faced with having to take them to another upholsterer and start the process all over again. I would love to share photo’s however this website doesn’t give you the option.
We initially reached out to Amy in an effort to resolve the situation amicably and requested a partial refund so the chairs could be repaired elsewhere. Unfortunately, after several attempts to communicate and find a fair resolution, she has completely stopped responding and has essentially ghosted us.
We chose to work with a local business and made the effort to travel to the island to drop off and pick up the chairs because we believed we were hiring a professional. Sadly, that trust was misplaced. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and costly.
