An estuarine, freshwater, and terrestrial conservancy located on the northwest end of Vashon Island off Westside Highway Southwest. The site includes roughly 13 acres of forested uplands, 2 creeks, and plenty of Puget Sound shoreline. The park is a great place for a hike along Shingle Mill creek to the cove, and perfect for beach dwelling at low tide. However, the park is not a place to bring the kids for a day in the water.
The property includes the historic 1912 Smith-Baldwin (Belle Baldwin) House and Carriage House, recently renovated and now serving as a vacation rental. The exterior and great room of the Smith-Baldwin House and the exterior of the Carriage House have been designated an historic landmark by the King County Landmarks & Heritage Commission. For information about renting the Smith-Baldwin (Belle Baldwin) House, fill out the contact form for Eric Wyatt, Lodging Manager.
