DESCRIPTION:September 14\, 2026 | 2pm\nALBIANI ON… UTAGAWA (ANDO) HIROSHIGE\nREBECCA ALBIANI is an art historian and a beloved\, long-time lecturer at VCA. Rebecca also lectures at the Frye Art Museum and other respected art institutions. Rebecca was a Fulbright Scholar in Venice and received a B.A. in Art History from U.C. Berkely and an M.A. from Stanford. \nUtagawa (Ando) Hiroshige featured in Echoes of the Floating World at Tacoma Art Museum (running through January 4\, 2026)\, is one of Japan’s greatest printmakers. His 100 Famous Views of Edo\, completed in 1858\, was Hiroshige’s final series of woodblock prints. Her client list includes Warner Bros.\, Discovery Media\, 9 Story Media Group\, Cartoon Saloon\, Field Day Entertainment\, the Cartoon Network\, and Max. \nAya has been sharing the work of NVC internationally via online classes and in-person retreats. This hands-on class takes you from rough lumber to fully milled components and precisely cut joinery. By the end of this course\, you will have a completed bookcase and a solid understanding of the typical project workflow\, skills that will prepare you to tackle more advanced\, independent projects with confidence.
