Vashon Island – A Ferry Ride to Paradise
Vashon-Maury Island boasts 45 miles of shoreline and you can ride the ferry for around $5 to get there! From either Seattle (if you’re flying in) or up North near Burien, it takes less than an hour to arrive on the Island. Independence Day Week-Long Celebrations
For the July 4th holiday this year, Vashon Island will host the Blues and Brews Festival on Saturday, June 29th to get things started. For the 4th of July, the Island displays fireworks around 10 pm at Quartermaster Harbor where visitors can take advantage of daytime paddle sports and park recreation prior to the big show. Later in the month, the island’s famous Strawberry Festival (now celebrating its 110th anniversary) takes place from July 19- 21st this year. There are a number of summertime concerts to hit up and finally, beachcombing galore.
